Red Deer  Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre is a charitable organization providing hope to children with special needs, the families who love them and the communities that care for them. The Executive Director reports to a volunteer Board of Directors. The Executive Director is the key organizational leader who facilitates the development and implementation of Aspire's strategic plan. The Executive Director coordinates and facilitates the work of the Board and the staff. The Executive Director has two major areas of focus: 1. Fund development and financial management and sustainability, with an annual budget of over $3 million 2. Overseeing the management of Aspire programs, staff and facility, maintaining a culture of caring and teamwork. The Executive Director acts as a spokesperson for the agency, cultivating strong community and government relationships. Qualifications: &bull A degree in public administration, business, fund development, leadership or equivalent combination of education and experience. &bull Experience in a leadership role in an organization including fund development and financial management. Involvement with the non-profit sector is an asset. &bull Proficiency in human resource management, supervision, team and staff development. &bull Experience in building community relationships, including advocacy with government and other funders. &bull Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills. &bull Ability to adapt to changing priorities, and to think and plan strategically.
